Carlisle Benefits Advice Team
The Benefits Advice Service are specialist welfare rights advisors who can assist people, in the Carlisle area, with comprehensive advice on benefits provided by the Department for Work and Pensions, Tax Credits and Cumberland Council.
Advisors can:
- give advice on claiming benefits such as Universal Credit, Employment & Support Allowance, Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Social fund payments and Welfare Assistance Scheme
- check whether you are receiving your correct entitlement to benefit
- help with claims, appeals, mandatory reconsiderations and reviews
Based at the Civic Centre in Carlisle, the Benefit Advice Service offers appointments at the Civic Centre, and, by request, outreach surgeries available at:
- Longtown
- Brampton
A home visiting service may be available to anyone unable to access the above venues, for example due to health problems.
