In general, people are allowed to keep animals, as long as they do not cause a nuisance or a health hazard to other people and premises around them.
Our Environmental Health Officers investigate animal related reports such as:
- noise
- smells
- waste
If you have concerns for the welfare of an animal you should report it to the RSPCA.
Dead animals
We are responsible for removing dead animals from road verges and Council owned beaches.
This does not include privately owned land, coastline or parish council land.
