Crafting skills, confidence and community
At Denton Woodcraft, we do more than build with wood. Our service empowers individuals to develop practical woodworking skills, grow in independence, and gain valuable life experience in a supportive and creative environment.
Hands-on learning with purpose
Participants engage in a wide range of woodwork projects, creating beautiful and functional items such as:
- hedgehog habitats
- bug hotels
- bird houses
- bookstands
- planters
- benches
These handcrafted pieces are proudly sold within our unity and at local art fairs and pop-up shops throughout the year, giving individuals a sense of achievement and connection to the wider community.
Making a difference locally
We're passionate about giving back. Denton Woodcraft regularly works on projects that enhance local spaces, most recently in collaboration with Green Spaces, helping to improve and beautify our shared environment.
Active and inclusive
Our team also takes part in 'DentonLinx' our day service football team, which competes in the Learning Disability FA League and trains alongside Carlisle United Disability Football - promoting teamwork, fitness, and fun.
Communication at the heart
Our team is deeply commited to person-centred care. We communicate with each individual in their preferred way and continuously adapt our timetable to reflect their evolving interests and goals. We proudly collaborate with national charities to promote inclusive communication, ensuring everyone has a voice.
