Apply for a library membership
A library membership allows you to:
- access all libraries across Cumberland
- search and reserve items for collection
- use computer, printing and scanning facilities
- access our online catalogue of eBooks, audiobooks, newspapers and magazines
- access BorrowBox
How to join
Visit your local library to become a full member.
If you're aged 18 or over, you will need to provide identification of your name and current address.
If you do not live in Cumbria but you work here, you will need to provide evidence of your employment such as a payslip or work contract.
The Library will register you with full membership and provide you with:
- your library card
- PIN number or password
- details of what is included in your library membership
If you are aged 17 and under, you will not be required to provide identification.
