Library loans and borrowing limits

How long you can borrow an item for and how many you can take out at a time.

What you can loan out

You can loan an adult or junior book for up to 21 days that are:

  • fiction
  • non fiction
  • talking books
  • story sacks

We provide loans for vocal scores, sheet music, play sets and books on music

How many books you can borrow at once

There are differing numbers of items a person can borrow. The number of items you can borrow depends on:

  • the type of item
  • your age

You should contact your local library for borrowing limits.

Renew an item

You can renew an item up to 6 times. After the sixth renewal an item has to be brought into the library for staff to check before they can be renewed again.

You will need to pay the purchase costs of the book, story sack or AV.
