Cumberland Council is proud to announce that Eskdale House, its 21-bed residential care home in Longtown, has achieved a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its first official inspection since completing extensive refurbishments in April 2024.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Eskdale House and reflects its unwavering commitment to providing safe, person-centred care and driving continuous improvement for residents and their families.
Inspectors praised Eskdale House for its well-trained and compassionate staff, robust medication management, and detailed care planning that actively involves residents and their relatives. Feedback from residents and families highlighted feelings of safety, support, and being listened to, with staff described as knowledgeable and caring. The report also commended the home’s strong governance systems and its proactive approach to gathering and acting on feedback.
