Frizington residents are being asked to get involved in influencing decisions about their village.

The South Cumberland Community Panel is hosting a special event next week. It will include a walk around the area and is a chance for people who live and work there to say what they enjoy about Frizington, what works and what needs fixing.

The event details are:

  • Wednesday, 12 November, 1.30pm
  • Frizington Veterans' Club, Lindow Street

There will be an introduction, a walk around the village and further conversations back in the hall afterwards.

The exercise looks at the physical and social aspects of living in Frizington – do the amenities and structure of the village help people to live a good life?

Getting residents’ views will help the council make better informed decisions, making sure resources are targeted where they are needed most.

During the walkabout participants, accompanied by councillors and officers, will observe and discuss elements of the village. They will then return to the Veterans’ Club to hear more about people's views and how they can influence future council decisions.

The process helps the council map what already exists, what works and what could make things better. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to really make their voices heard in their local community.

This event is hosted by the South Cumberland Community Panel and should last around 2.5hrs in total. Tea and mince pies will be provided.

The walk will last around 45 minutes but anyone with mobility issues is welcome to join the indoor sessions only.
