Raffles residents are being asked to help create a plan for the future of their community.
Cumberland Council is committed to helping the Carlisle estate become a sustainable, vibrant community with opportunities for everyone. It has created a draft plan which looks at how Raffles could develop in five key areas:
• Community support and wellbeing;
• Safe streets and parks;
• Better public transport;
• Things for young people to do; and
• Cleanliness, respect and pride in our place.
Residents are being urged to attend a special event next month to give their views and help shape the plan.
Cllr Justin McDermott, Cumberland Council’s Executive Member for Public Health and Communities, said: “I encourage all residents to come together and attend this event to make a real difference to their community. The best ideas often come from local residents, and it’s important everyone gets their say.”
The event is on Wednesday 4 June, from 4pm until 7pm at Newtown School.
Attendees will be able to hear more about the draft plan, then give their input in a workshop-style event. There will be pizza and everyone is welcome. Residents who cannot get to this event will be able to attend others as the project progresses.
