Part-time Fixed Term SEND Support Teaching Assistant
Part-time 27.5 hours, term time , Fixed-term until August 2027 until children leave
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEND Support Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will be providing essential support to students with a variety of needs, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one support or work with small groups, ensuring that students can fully participate in lessons and school activities.
• Work closely with teachers to adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs and learning styles.
• Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents, helping to track achievements and areas for development.
• Support with the care and welfare of students, ensuring their health and safety at all times.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
What We Are Looking For:
• A kind, patient, and caring individual who is committed to improving the educational experience of students with SEND.
• Previous experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a school environment, would be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to support the varying needs of students.
• An understanding of the different types of SEND and the strategies that can be used to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
• A proactive and enthusiastic team player, willing to go the extra mile to support student progress.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or SEND-specific training) is desirable but not essential.
