St Bega’s CofE Primary School is a small school located at the heart of it’s community in Eskdale.
The Governors are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Permanent School Business Administrator and Clerk to Governors to join our fantastic team in September 2025. We are interested to hear about your experience as well as any additional skills and qualities that you can bring to our forward-thinking team. The required start date is the 1st September 2025 but an earlier start date or period of transition to work alongside the existing Business Administrator would be welcomed.
Business Administrator Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday-Friday) term time, 38 weeks + 1 week of INSET. There may be an option to do more hours.
Salary Scale: BS6 – BS7 (£25,584 - £28,624) per annum, pro rata (dependent on skills and experience).
Clerk to Governors Hours 1 hour per week (Monday-Friday) term time, in addition this will include 3 afternoon/evening meetings a year. Salary Scale BS3 – BS5 (£24,027- £25,183) per annum pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and hard-working team. We are looking for someone with experience of working within administration and finance as well as supporting a wide range of activities, including human resources and safer recruitment, payroll, procurement, facilities management and health and safety.
The successful candidate will:
• be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues in a range of formats and demonstrate high levels of professionalism;
• have experience of administrative work including assisting with the preparation and monitoring of the budget and day-to-day tasks ideally within an education environment. Training can be provided;
• be willing to undertake a varied role which will include responsibilities such as meeting deadlines for DFE data to be submitted, health and safety procedures, facilitating payroll by working through our HR providers;
• understand a range of IT systems including Microsoft Word and Excel;
• understand and respect the need for a high degree of confidentiality;
• support and understand the values and the vision of our school;
• be committed to safeguarding children and understand that we all have a duty to keep children safe.
