How it works

You can apply for a Blue Badge for:

If you, or a person you are supporting, is suffering from a life limiting illness with a poor prognosis (unlikely to be longer than 6 months), you can apply for a life limited Blue Badge.

What you can do with a Blue Badge

It allows you to park:

  • for free in some pay and display car parks (time limits may apply)
  • on-street disabled parking bays (time limits may apply)
  • on single and double yellow lines in most streets for up to 3 hours

Your responsibilities

If you’re using the Blue Badge as a passenger it is your responsibility to make sure the driver is aware of the regulations.

You could be fined £1000 if you misuse your Blue Badge.
