Cumberland Council is proposing changes to traffic regulation orders (TROs) across Cleator Moor, Egremont, Millom and surrounding areas.
The proposed changes include:
- introducing double yellow line (‘no waiting at any time’) restrictions on selected roads in Cleator Moor, Cleator, Thornhill, Egremont, St Bees, Moor Row, Bigrigg, Holmrook, Millom, Haverigg, Kirksanton and Moresby
- introducing ‘no loading or unloading at any time’ restrictions on selected roads in Cleator Moor
- changing existing time-limited parking restrictions in Egremont and Millom, including extending some parking durations
- updating parking arrangements, including changes to disabled parking bays in Egremont
- introducing longer stay parking in laybys on parts of the A595, B5344 and A5093
These changes aim to:
- improve road safety
- help traffic flow more easily
- improve the local environment and amenity
