'Broughton Lodge' site (ref: 2015/003)

Asset details:

  • Address: Broughton Moor, CA15 7SG
  • Locality area: Maryport/Cockermouth
  • Date of decision: 6 October 2015
  • Reasons for decision: The Panel concluded that although community use of parts of the nominated land had been evidenced, a large proportion of the area nominated is grazing land farmed by tenant farmers. The Panel therefore considered use for agriculture to be the main use of these areas. This use is not considered to further the social wellbeing or interests of the local community. The nominated land therefore does not meet the definition of an asset of community value in the Localism Act 2011.
