Advice for businesses who operate in consumer credit
Businesses operating in consumer credit may now need to be authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
To find out whether your business needs authorisation, how to make an application and further advice visit the Financial Conduct Authority website.
Consumer credit adverts
The FCA has the responsibility for making sure that consumer credit adverts comply with the rules for authorised businesses. However, we still have a role in making sure that such adverts are not misleading.
If you think that a consumer credit advert is misleading please let us know by emailing us at trading.standards@cumberland.gov.uk
