Heating Oil Support provides financial help to households affected by rising heating oil costs. It is aimed at households that rely on oil as their main source of heating and are experiencing difficulty affording their heating.
Heating Oil Support forms part of the Crisis Resilience Fund (CRF).
Who can apply
You may be eligible if you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- you receive
- Pension Credit
- Universal Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Reduction
- any other benefit (subject to financial assessment)
- your household income is less than £20,500 and oil is your main source of heating
- you are experiencing financial hardship linked to heating affordability
What you need to provide
When you apply, you will be asked to provide:
- proof of address
- evidence of household income, savings and financial circumstances
- a recent heating oil quote or invoice, or evidence that you cannot afford to purchase heating oil
We may request further reasonable evidence.

We accept one application per household.
Payments
If your application for Heating Oil Support is successful, we will contact you with details of how to collect your payment.
Payments are collected from a Post Office. To process the payment, you will need a mobile phone number.
