Organisation: Turn 2 Us

The Flexible Support Fund (FSF) is a locally managed, discretionary fund provided through Jobcentre Plus to help people who are unemployed or on low incomes overcome practical barriers to employment. Introduced in 2011, it gives Work Coaches the freedom to offer tailored support such as travel costs, training fees, interview clothing, and equipment or tools needed for a job. There is no fixed list of what the fund can cover; awards depend on individual needs and local budgets. The FSF can support claimants of Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, and other qualifying benefits, provided they are actively seeking work and the support will directly improve their job prospects. To apply, individuals must speak to their Work Coach, as applications are made in person at the Jobcentre, not online.
