This service is for people in West Cumbria who:
Feel lonely or socially isolated
Have limited family or social contact
Are living with dementia
Are veterans
Live in their own home or in a care setting
What support is available
In‑person befriending – regular visits to private homes or care settings
Telephone befriending – friendly, regular phone calls
Ongoing companionship focused on conversation, connection and wellbeing
This is not personal care, but emotional and social support.
