Mobilise offers unpaid carers free online support to make caring easier.

You can:

  • get help and guidance anytime, day or night
  • book a 1-to-1 support call with their Carer Support Team
  • join free coaching sessions to help with challenges
  • access practical tips on caring tasks and benefits
  • take part in live online events and workshops
  • get personalised resources tailored to your caring role

Local support

Cumberland Carers offers free, friendly support to unpaid adult carers. They provide:

  • information and advice on caring and local services
  • support from Adult Carer Support Workers
  • emotional and peer support
  • counselling services in person or by phone
  • help with contingency planning
  • respite breaks for your wellbeing
  • occupational therapy, equipment and adaptations
  • financial advice including Carer’s Allowance
  • guidance on the Carers Leave Act 2024

Carer’s assessment

If you provide unpaid care and are over 18, you can have a Carer’s Assessment.

This is a chance to talk about what support might make things easier for you. You can:

  • have your needs assessed even if the person you care for does not receive council support
  • request a combined assessment with the person you care for
