Cumberland Council due to host their first Apprenticeship Recruitment Day

apprenticeships

Cumberland Council are now recruiting to dozens of apprenticeships in a variety of roles, including care, finance, legal and more. Applicants must apply by Friday 28 July to be invited to the recruitment day.

To attend the event, interested candidates should go to Cumberland Council’s jobs vacancies webpage, search for apprenticeship opportunities, and complete and return the simple application form. Anyone who is shortlisted will receive an invitation to the recruitment day with full details of the event.

As part of the recruitment day, which will take place on Friday 11 August in Carlisle, prospective apprentices will:

  • find out about the apprenticeship from the Apprenticeship Team i.e., study days, mentor support and employee benefits,
  • find out about the job, the team and the service from managers and mentors,
  • take part in a short, informal interview.

Those who start work for Cumberland Council through the apprenticeship scheme will earn while they learn and receive one-on-one mentor support. The apprenticeship scheme provides knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications that will open doors to future careers.

Cllr Elaine Lynch, Cumberland Council Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Development, said;
 “Cumberland Council are looking to recruit a wave of new apprentices into a variety of roles such as Health and Social Care, Customer Service, Accountancy and Business Support.

“Our fantastic apprenticeship scheme provides learners with real-life work experience, a nationally recognised qualification and additional training and support.

“Anyone interested should apply by Friday 28 July to be invited to the recruitment day where you’ll find out more about the range of opportunities available.”
