Cumberland Council is excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive public consultation on homecare services. The consultation seeks to gather valuable insights and perspectives from all Cumberland residents.

The results of this consultation will shape the specification for new homecare services and ensure residents receive effective, quality services which meet their needs in the years to come. The online consultation is open now and residents have until 22 November to share their views.

Cllr Markus Campbell-Savours, Cumberland Council’s Executive Member for Adults and Community Health, said: "Health and wellbeing is at the heart of what we do at Cumberland Council. We are committed to ensuring that residents have access to high-quality homecare services which help people stay active and healthy in later life.

“Effective homecare services help people to stay in their own homes, stay active and live alongside their family and community. We want to ensure that homecare is delivered to meet the needs and expectations of our residents.

“This consultation is a vital step towards continuing to shape homecare services that are both effective and compassionate."

Homecare services are provided to people to assist them in maintaining their independence. People may receive care within their own home or as a way of supporting them to access the community.

The consultation is being carried out online with opportunities for everyone to express their opinions and offer suggestions on what they would like to see from home care services. Residents are encouraged to visit Cumberland council’s homecare consultation site to learn more about the consultation and give their views.
