Upon completion of the above areas, the teams will continue jet patching works, moving to nearby parishes

Cumberland Council is reminding the public that they can report potholes by visiting the council’s website, or by phoning the Highways Hotline, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm at 0300 373 3736

Reporting a pothole on a road can be done if it is 40mm deep or greater.

During the reporting process, the council asks the public to give a detailed location, width, and depth of the pothole, as well as the customer's email address (so the council can supply progress reports). Residents can also use what3words to communicate locations of the potholes.

Councillor Denise Rollo, Cumberland Council’s Executive Portfolio Holder for Sustainable, Resilient and Connected Places, said:

“Throughout the Cumberland Council area, we have 3,616km of highway, and it is crucial that the network is maintained.

“I would like to offer my thanks to the Highways Team for their hard work. It is with their tireless efforts that have allowed us to continue to maintain safe and reliable roads for our community.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the public for helping us identify potholes that need fixing and remind people to please report potholes that meet the specified dimensions. This will help our Highways Team to focus on repairs in a more efficient and effective manner. Your support and understanding is greatly appreciated.”
