Cumberland Council is pleased to announce a substantial investment of £650,000 in Cumwhinton School, located in Carlisle.
This investment is dedicated to the development of a new classroom alongside upgrading toilet facilities. The project started earlier in the year and is scheduled for completion by August 2024.
The new classroom will be added to the existing large single-storey building, featuring a pitched roof, concrete tiles, and upgraded internal finishes including plasterwork, decoration, and floor finishes. There will be external improvements too.
The new classroom will enhance learning opportunities and reflects Cumberland Council's ongoing commitment to fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence and student well-being.
Collaborating with local expertise, the design for these new facilities has been entrusted to Carlisle-based firm Architects Plus. The construction phase will be initiated by local company, Cubby Construction.
With increasing demand for school places and enriched learning opportunities, this extension will create additional capacity at Cumwhinton School while providing fantastic new state of the art facilities which will help young individuals to realise their full potential in a nurturing and welcoming environment.
