Cumberland Council would like to update residents and businesses of scheduled evening highway improvement works on the A689 Hallbankgate, between Plane Head Cottage and Hallbankgate Quarry.
The resurfacing work comprises of a carriageway inlay which will improve the road's durability and quality, replace ironwork for future maintenance accessibility, and renew line markings.
These works are scheduled to commence on Monday 4 March until Friday 15 March 2024, for a duration of ten nights, weather permitting (excluding weekends). Works will be taking place between 6pm and 6am.
To enable the council to complete works safely, it will be necessary to close the road between Plane Head Cottage and Hallbankgate Quarry, each evening, with a full diversion route being put in place.
If residents or businesses require access to their property, the council kindly request that this be discussed with the Traffic Marshal who will be on site during the works, please be aware that there might be some delays in accessing properties.
Access will be maintained for emergency services during the works.
