Cumberland Council, working in partnership with National Highways, is delivering essential improvements on the A66 and A596 at Ramsay Brow and Hall Brow. These upgrades are designed to ease congestion and make journeys through Workington safer and smoother for everyone.
The weekend closures at Ramsay Brow are now complete, but from Monday 6 October temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction. Please be aware that this may cause some delays to journeys.
It is important to note that during the works there will be no pedestrian crossing at Ramsay Brow. Pedestrians are advised to use the crossing at Jane Street, or a temporary crossing will be available at Hall Brow.
These roadworks are part of the wider Workington Gateway project – a £10 million investment to improve connections to jobs, the Port of Workington, and create better walking and cycling links between the town centre and our cultural and heritage attractions.
