Cumberland Council is proud to announce that Barbara Herridge, Waste Service Manager, has been appointed to the PackUK Communications and Behaviour Change Advisory Group (CBCAG).
This is a significant national appointment that recognises her expertise and commitment to improving waste management and recycling.
PackUK has recently confirmed the membership of its three new voluntary advisory groups, which, alongside the Scheme Administrator Steering Group, will support the continued development and delivery of the Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) for Packaging scheme. These groups play a crucial role in shaping the UK’s packaging waste reforms and include:
- Recyclability Assessment Methodology Technical Advisory Committee
- Efficiency and Effectiveness Technical Advisory Committee
- Communications and Behaviour Change Advisory Group (CBCAG)
The CBCAG brings together professionals from across the value chain, with representation from all four nations of the UK. The group will provide expertise in behavioural change and communications, advising the PackUK Executive Committee on effective strategies that support the delivery of the pEPR scheme’s goals.
Barbara’s appointment is an outstanding achievement for both her and Cumberland Council, recognising the depth of knowledge and leadership within our Waste Management team.
Cllr Denise Rollo, Executive Member for Sustainable, Resilient and Connected Places, said:
“This is an incredible achievement for Barbara and for Cumberland Council. We are extremely proud of the expertise and dedication she has shown in her work. Her appointment to this important national advisory group highlights the high regard in which she is held and demonstrates the positive impact our staff are having well beyond Cumberland.
“Barbara’s contribution will help shape how the UK delivers behaviour change around packaging and recycling, and we couldn’t be more pleased.”
