Cumberland Council is updating the public of essential drainage improvement works scheduled to take place at Oldwall, Laversdale.

The work will begin on Monday 9 June, and is expected to last for nineteen days, weather dependent. Works will be approximately 50 metres north of Oldwall Farm, near Laversdale. This project is part of the council’s continued commitment to making your roads safer and more reliable for everyone in the community.

To ensure the safety of both our workforce and the public, a full road closure will be implemented for the duration of the works. Work will take place daily from 8.00am to 4.00pm, but the road will remain closed at all times, including outside of these working hours.

A signed diversion route will be in place for the full duration of the works. Details of this route can be found on One Network.

Access will be available for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists throughout the works.

Waste and recycling collections will proceed as normal, while updates about temporary bus stop relocations will be posted at affected stops. Passengers with bus route questions are encouraged to contact Stagecoach directly.

Cumberland Council wishes to thank the community for their continued support and patience while they improve the road network and apologise for any inconvenience.
