Residents in the Wigton area are invited to find out more about food, health and lots more.
The Fells and Solway Community Panel is hosting a community event alongside the regular food pantry at St Cuthbert's Church Hall in Burnfoot, Wigton. The event will run from 9am until 11.30am on Wednesday, 28 May.
Everyone is welcome and there will be advice and information from a range of organisations.
There will be the opportunity to sample some tasty - and healthy - brunch recipes, get tips on using your air fryer, and perhaps even win one in a free prize draw!
Attendees can find out more about Food Cumberland, a council-led partnership aimed at ensuring everyone has access to good food.
There will be representatives from Age UK North Cumbria offering advice, and people to explain how to use the NHS app.
As if that's not enough advice, people can chat to Cumberland Council's waste team about recycling and meet a Master Composter.
The church's regular food pantry and cafe will be running at the same time - so there will be lots to do and there is no need to book.
Residents will also, of course, be able to ask the council's Community Development team about the work of the community panel, and chat about their local priorities.
This event is being hosted by the Fells and Solway Community Panel. The panel is made up of Cumberland ward councillors - it engages with the community, and invests funds in grass-roots projects. The Fells and Solway panel covers the wards of Dalston and Burgh, Solway Coast, Thursby, Aspatria and Wigton. Find out more about its work here Fells and Solway Community Panel | Cumberland Council
