Cumberland Council will be carrying out essential footway improvement works on Manor Road, Carlisle from Monday 4 August to Friday 22 August 2025.
These works are part of the council’s ongoing commitment to improving pedestrian infrastructure and ensuring safer, more accessible footways for residents.
To ensure the safety of both residents and workers, multi-way temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the works (excluding weekends). As a result, access and egress along this stretch of Manor Road may be temporarily disrupted during working hours.
The works will last for 15 working days, with crews operating on-site each day between 8.00am and 4.00pm.
Cumberland Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation during this necessary improvement work.
For further information or to raise any concerns, please visit the Cumberland Council Website or contact the Highways Hotline at 0300 373 3736. On-site staff will also be available to assist with any immediate concerns during the works.
