Tickets are about to go on sale for the next Taste Cumbria Supper Club and Comedy Night in Cockermouth.
The two events are part of the Taste Cumbria Christmas festival which takes place in the heart of the town on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December.
The Comedy Night will be held in The Maltings at Jennings Brewery from 7pm on the Saturday night, with the Supper Club closing the weekend’s festivities on the Sunday from 6pm. Tickets will be available from the Taste Cumbria website from 9am on Friday 14 November.
The Cottage in the Wood Supper Club @ Low Hall the Lakes will see Michelin-starred chef Jack Bond cooking four stunning courses which will be served in the beautiful surroundings of this venue on the outskirts of Cockermouth. Tickets cost £68 per person.
The combination of fabulous hospitality and the very best food from two amazing local businesses means this event always sells out.
Comedy Night tickets cost £15 each and a great line-up of comics will be taking to the stage. MC Will Duggan has been performing comedy since 2009 and since then has cemented himself as a dynamic performer in comedy clubs around the country.
Celebrated for his ingenious punchlines and dead pan delivery, Julian Deane will open the show, before handing over to Ravi Saini, who says he just wants to make the world laugh a little, with the warning that he has no filter. Closing the event is Christian Reilly, who uses his dynamic guitar and vocal skills and has histrionic rod bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians in his sights.
The Taste Cumbria events are organised by Cumberland Council. Councillor Anne Quilter, Executive Member for Vibrant and Healthy Places, said: “Taste Cumbria Christmas in Cockermouth is always the perfect finale for the year’s food and drink celebrations.
“The main festival is completely free to attend, but we love to put the icing on the cake with some ticketed events. We are so pleased to partner with Jennings Brewery for the comedy night, and to welcome you all back to another Supper Club featuring the brilliance of the Cottage in the Wood team and the gorgeous location of Low Hall the Lakes.
“If it’s the weekend festival that you want to enjoy, there will be loads of producers’ stalls and expert demonstrations on Main Street and Market Place, a visit from Santa Claus, some seasonal street theatre, alongside some excellent live music.
“I hope you have another amazing Taste Cumbria weekend – and a happy Christmas!”
