Cumberland Council is inviting residents from across the Lakes to Sea area to a special community event focused on building safe, resilient communities.
The event is at Cockermouth Town Hall on Wednesday, 12 November, from 5.30pm until 7pm.
The session will bring together council officers, Cumbria Police, local councillors and the emergency services to share information and hear from residents.
Topics will include:
- Community resilience - how we respond together to emergencies like extreme weather or power outages.
- Winter crime prevention - insights and advice from Cumbria Police.
- Environmental crime reporting - learn about the council’s new system for reporting issues in your area.
Members of the Lakes to Sea Community Panel – local ward councillors - will be available to answer questions and hear your views.
Members of the emergency services will also be on hand with advice to help residents prepare for and respond to local challenges.
Everyone is welcome – no booking is required, and teas and coffees will be provided.
This event is being hosted by the Lakes to Sea Community Panel. The panel covers the wards of Bothel and Wharrels, Cockermouth North, Cockermouth South, Dearham and Broughton, Keswick, Maryport North and Maryport South.
