On the build up to Small Business Saturday (6 December) why not gift local?

Located in Carlisle’s historic Old Town Hall, The Tourist Information Centre offers a wide range of unique Christmas gifts that celebrate and support local producers, businesses, and community projects. Visitors will find handmade pottery, jewellery, decorations, locally produced food and drink, distilled spirits, woollen keepsakes, candles, photo cards that capture the beauty of Cumbria and more. Every purchase directly supports the local makers behind these creative gifts

For those looking to give an experience rather than a gift, tickets are available for Carlisle’s Winter City Walking Tour. Priced at £10 per adult, the tour explores the city’s history and festive atmosphere. MyCumbria Card holders receive a £2 discount for themselves and fup to four guests. You will also receive a voucher for a complimentary tea or coffee at Watts Coffee Shops, valid in 2025 / 2026. Booking is essential via the Carlisle Tourist Information Centre, either in person or over the phone on 01228 598596.

The Tourist Information Centre are again, taking part in ‘Cards For Good Causes’, offering a beautiful selection of Christmas cards that support over 100 UK charities and community projects. From traditional, religious cards to more contemporary designs there are options to suit everyone.

Over the last decade, Cards For Good Causes has raised more than £22 million for a network of over 100 charities, including Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research, Army Benevolent Fund, NSPCC, Shelter and Carers UK. During the Christmas season they open over 100 pop up shops in communities across the country where customers can shop their full Christmas range.

Whether you’re searching for a thoughtful gift, supporting a good cause, or simply enjoying Carlisle’s festive spirit, the Tourist Information Centre at the Old Town Hall is well worth a visit this season.
