Taste Cumbria is in Carlisle this weekend!

Taste Cumbria

The Taste Cumbria festival is back in Carlisle this weekend for an event packed with food, drink, gifts, music and family fun.

Taking place on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 November, this the second year the event has been held in the city and it promises to be even bigger and better.

The main Producers’ Market takes place in the grounds of Carlisle Cathedral, with the music stage being located on the newly-transformed Greenmarket – part of the multi-million regeneration of the city centre.

There will also be free children’s activities, including face painting, crafts and street theatre.

The Taste Carlisle event also coincides with the annual Fireshow, which takes place on the Saturday night, and an artisan craft market in the Old Town Hall during the daytime on Saturday.

Taste Cumbria is partnering with the Carlisle Farmers Market too, and setting up with them in the beautiful grounds of the Cathedral. The event will include 45 food and drink traders.

Stalls will be open from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and 11am to 4pm on the Sunday, while the sparkling Fireshow will start at 6.30pm on Saturday.

The Taste Cumbria events, organised by Cumberland Council, and made possible by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, bring millions of pounds into the local economy each year through their events in Carlisle, Cockermouth, Maryport and Wigton.

Councillor Anne Quilter, Cumberland Council’s Executive Member for Vibrant and Healthy Places, said: “It was brilliant to see so many people out on the Greenmarket and Market Square for a shopping and music event in October, and Taste Carlisle promises to be another lively weekend.

“I hope you will come and support your local businesses in the city centre too. They’re gearing up for Christmas and this is an ideal opportunity to start that festive shopping. Have a fabulous weekend!”

Taste Carlisle is the penultimate Taste Cumbria event of 2025. Taste Cumbria Christmas takes place in Cockermouth on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December for the perfect opportunity to discover loads of festive treats.
