Ivegill Road:
Cumberland Council would like to apologise for the extended delay to Ivegill Road and appreciate the patience and cooperation of the residents and road users in the area.
Galliford Try Infrastructure commented: "The team have been working hard over the last few weeks to complete the works on the Ivegill Road, in combination with the work on Buckabank Road.
“Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to have the road safety barriers for the Stoneraise Bridge on the Ivegill Road installed this week, which means we are not in a position where we can safely reopen the route. We apologise for the ongoing delay on the Ivegill Road.”
We can confirm that the safety barriers will be installed next week and our principal contractor, Galliford Try Infrastructure, has assured us that Ivegill Road will reopen by Monday 30 June.
Buckabank Road:
We are pleased to confirm that Buckabank Road, the new Durdar Roundabout and the new link road into Durdar will open on Monday 23 June.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of road users and residents in the area whilst the road was closed.
Burthwaite Road:
We can confirm that Burthwaite Road will not close until Friday 25 July. The closure is required to allow our contractors to safely complete the work at Redcat Roundabout and will take at least two months to complete.
More details will be published closer to the closure date.
