Cumberland Council is set to carry out carriageway resurfacing works on the B5307 at Angerton Bridge to Old Station House, helping to improve the condition of the highway and provide safer, smoother journeys for residents, businesses and visitors.
The works form part of Cumberland Council's wider £27.3 million investment in highways for 2026/27, including £2.85 million dedicated to residential and rural roads, supporting improvements across the network.
The scheme is scheduled to begin on Monday 21 September 2026 and is expected to take up to eight days to complete, subject to weather and site conditions. The works will be delivered by Cumberland Council's contractor, DSD Construction Limited.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public, these works will be carried out under an official road closure, which will be for 24 hours a day for the duration of the works. A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the works. Please see the location plan on the reverse of this letter.
Access for residents will be restricted during working hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm. Residents are advised to speak to the traffic marshals who will be onsite throughout the works and will endeavour to facilitate access to properties when it is safe to do so.
