Better roads on the way for Thurstonfield

Road Patching

Cumberland Council is set to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works on the B5307 at Thurstonfield, helping to deliver smoother, safer journeys for all road users.

The improvements will enhance the condition of the road and support a more reliable local highway network.

The works will begin on Monday 22 June 2026 and are expected to last for five working days, subject to weather and site conditions.

To keep both the workforce and the public safe, the works will take place under a temporary road closure, with a signed diversion route in place. Working hours will be between 8am and 4pm each day. During this time, access will still be maintained for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Cumberland Council appreciates that this may cause some temporary disruption and would like to thank residents and road users for their patience while these important improvements are carried out.
