Cumberland Council will be carrying out essential carriageway patching and pothole repair works on the C1014 and C1036 at Durdar, between the Black Lion pub and Beech House.
The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 21 September and are expected to last for five days, subject to weather conditions and operational requirements.
To allow the repairs to be completed safely, the works will require an official road closure between 8.00am and 4.00pm each day. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout the duration of the scheme.
Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, and waste collection services will continue as normal.
During working hours, vehicle access to and from properties within the closure may not be possible while patching works are taking place. Residents requiring access are encouraged to speak with the site team, who will assist where it is safe and practical to do so. Some delays may be experienced depending on the location and stage of the works.
On-street parking within the closure area will also be unavailable during working hours while the scheme is underway.
The improvements form part of the councils £27.3 million investment in maintaining and improving the local highway network, helping to provide safer and smoother journeys for residents, businesses and visitors.
