Cumberland Council will shortly begin essential carriageway resurfacing and footway reconstruction works on the B5307 between Finglandrigg and Kirkbampton.
The works are scheduled to start on Monday 2 February 2026 and are expected to last for up to two weeks, subject to weather and site conditions.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public, a full road closure will be in place for the duration of the works. Traffic marshals will be on-site throughout to assist residents in accessing their properties where possible. Refuse collections will continue where it is safe to do so.
Work will take place Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 6.00pm.
Access will be maintained at all times for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists.
Residents with special access requirements, or anyone seeking further information, are encouraged to contact Cumberland Council’s Highways Department on 0300 373 3736 or visit cumberland.gov.uk.
