Cumberland Council is inviting the community to attend the annual Christmas Memorial Services at Distington Hall Crematorium this December.
The services will take place on Tuesday 15 December and Wednesday 16 December, with both evenings beginning at 6.30pm. The special services provide an opportunity for families and friends to come together in remembrance and reflection during the festive season.
For many people, Christmas can be a particularly difficult time when remembering loved ones who are no longer with them. The memorial services offer a quiet and comforting space to honour their memory, reflect on cherished moments, and find support alongside others who are also remembering those they have lost.
As part of the services, an on-screen tribute will be displayed featuring the names of those being remembered. Anyone wishing to attend or include the name of a loved one in the tribute is asked to contact Distington Hall Crematorium by calling 01946 598305 or emailing [email protected].
The deadline for tribute submissions is 30 November.
Attendance is free of charge, however advance booking is essential as places are limited.
The annual services continue to provide a meaningful opportunity for remembrance, offering comfort, reflection and a sense of togetherness at a time of year that can be challenging for many families.
