Cumberland Council is set to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A69 Warwick Road in Carlisle later this month to help keep the road safe and in good condition for road users.

The works will take place between the Tesco junction and Tillbury Avenue and are scheduled to begin on Sunday 23 August for six nights, subject to weather and site conditions.

To allow the resurfacing to be carried out safely, a combination of four-way and two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place between 7pm and 3am each night. Four-way lights will be used at the Tesco junction, with two-way lights operating as the works progress along Warwick Road. Traffic management will be removed before 7am each morning.

The improvements form part of Cumberland Council's ongoing programme of highway maintenance works across the area, helping to improve road conditions and extend the life of the carriageway.

Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained throughout the works. Residents who live within the works area and require access are encouraged to speak with site staff, who will do their best to assist.

Further information about the scheme is available on Cumberland Council's website or by contacting the Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3736.
