Cumberland Council will be carrying out essential footway improvement works on Etterby Street in Carlisle.
The works will take place on Etterby Street and are scheduled to begin on Monday 22 June 2026, lasting for approximately 25 working days, subject to weather conditions and site requirements.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the travelling public, the works will be delivered in three phases of traffic management, taking place between 9am and 4pm daily.
Planned phases of work:
- Phase 1 – Temporary two-way traffic lights
22 June to 3 July (Properties 73–39) - Phase 2 – Temporary two-way traffic lights
6 July to 17 July (Properties 37–9) - Phase 3 – Lane closure
20 July to 24 July (Properties 9–1)
During Phase 3 of the works, there will be no access to Etterby Street via Scotland Road.
