Cumberland Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on the C2030 at Loweswater as part of its ongoing programme of highway improvements across the county.
The scheme is scheduled to take place from Monday 5 October to Friday 16 October 2026, subject to weather and site conditions. Working hours will be between 7.00am and 5.00pm each day.
To enable the resurfacing works to be carried out safely and efficiently, a formal road closure will be in place during working hours. Vehicle access through the closure will not be possible while works are underway.
Access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times, and waste collections will continue as normal. A signed diversion route will be available for motorists.
The improvements form part of the councils £27.3 million investment in maintaining and improving the local highway network, helping to provide safer and smoother journeys for residents, businesses and visitors.
Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time where necessary.
Cumberland Council would like to thank residents and road users for their patience and cooperation while these essential maintenance works are completed and apologises for any temporary disruption caused.
