Major resurfacing scheme planned for A6071 in Brampton

highways

A carriageway resurfacing scheme is set to take place on the A6071 in Brampton this month as part of ongoing investment in Cumberland's highway network.

Connect Roads, working in partnership with Cumberland Council, will carry out resurfacing works along the A6071 from 17 July 2026, with the scheme expected to take up to 14 days to complete, subject to weather and site conditions.

The essential maintenance works will be undertaken under a series of road closures to allow the resurfacing to be completed safely and efficiently. Signed diversion routes will be in place throughout the programme.

The works will be carried out in phases across different sections of the A6071:
