Cumberland Council in partnership with Connect Roads will be carrying out essential carriageway resurfacing works on the A689 Linstock Roundabout.
The works will begin on Sunday 7 June 2026 and are expected to take approximately six nights to complete, subject to weather conditions and site requirements.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the travelling public, the works will be carried out under night-time road closures, with a signed diversion route clearly in place throughout the duration of the scheme.
Closures will be in place between 7.00pm and 6.00am each night.
During the works:
- Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles at all times
- Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to pass through the area
- Residents and businesses will be escorted safely through the works where required, although there may be short delays while it is safe to do so
For residents in Parkbroom, access will be via the road closure point at the Low Crosby junction only during the works.
Cumberland Council recognises that the overnight closures may cause some temporary disruption and thanks residents and road users for their patience while these essential works are carried out.
