Cumberland Council will begin essential repair works on the Wythop Mill to Pheasant Inn starting Monday 19 January.

These important works form part of the council’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the local highway network.

To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public, the repairs will be carried out under a full road closure, with signed diversion routes in place throughout the duration of the scheme. The works are expected to last for up to ten days, subject to weather and site conditions.

Access arrangements:

  • No vehicle access within the work area during working hours 7.00am until 5.00pm.
  • Emergency services, pedestrians, and cyclists will have access when safe and practical to do so.
  • Residents with special access requirements are encouraged to get in touch as early as possible.
  • All vehicles should be moved clear of the works area before the start of the scheme.
