Cumberland Council is set to carry out essential carriageway works between Highland View and Silversyke, near Boltonfellend.
The works will begin on Monday 18 May 2026 and are expected to last for 10 working days, subject to weather conditions and site requirements
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the travelling public, the works will be delivered under a road closure, with a signed diversion route in place throughout the duration of the scheme.
Working hours will be between 8am and 4pm each day.
During the works:
- Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles
- Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to pass through the area
- Waste collections and school transport services will continue as normal.
The works form part of Cumberland Council’s ongoing programme of highway maintenance, helping to keep roads in good condition for local communities, businesses and visitors.
Cumberland Council recognises that closures on this route may cause some temporary disruption and thanks residents for their patience while these essential improvements are carried out.
