Cumberland Council will be carrying out urgent carriageway works on the road between Scaleby and Barclose, near Glencote, following worsening conditions identified on site.
The works will take place from Monday 1 June, lasting five working days, subject to weather and site conditions.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the travelling public, the works will be carried out under an official road closure, with a signed diversion route in place.
Working hours will be between 8am and 4pm each day. The closure will remain in place on a 24-hour basis, although it may be removed outside of working hours if it is safe to do so.
The works are being carried out as a matter of urgency to address deteriorating road conditions and to keep the network safe for all users.
During the works:
- Vehicular access to properties within the works area will not be permitted
- Emergency service vehicles will be granted access if required
- Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to pass through the area
Cumberland Council recognises that the closure may cause some temporary inconvenience and thanks residents and road users for their patience while these essential repairs are completed.
