Cumberland Council is advising residents and businesses of planned carriageway resurfacing works on Senhouse Street in Maryport later this month.
The improvement works will take place on the U2823 Senhouse Street and are scheduled to begin on Monday 20 July 2026, lasting for up to five days, subject to weather and site conditions.
To allow the works to be carried out safely, a road closure will be in place 24 hours a day throughout the duration of the works. Working hours will be 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. A signed diversion route will operate throughout the scheme.
The resurfacing programme forms part of Cumberland Council’s ongoing investment in maintaining and improving the condition of the local highway network, helping to provide safer and smoother journeys for residents, businesses and visitors.
During the works:
- Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
- On-street parking will be severely restricted during working hours.
- Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, with on-site staff available to provide advice as works progress.
- Scheduled waste collections on Friday 24 July 2026 will continue as normal.
- Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the duration of the works.
