The ongoing community excavation and exhibition project of Carlisle’s Roman Bathhouse, Uncovering Roman Carlisle (URC), has won three prestigious national awards.
On the build up to this year’s Small Business Saturday (2 December) Cumberland Council is encouraging residents to shop local and support local businesses.
Alongside town councils, the council has lined up events to attract visitors and showcase the shops and traders within the area.
Cumberland Council is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative called “Fresh Start”, aimed at providing essential cleaning products to young people aged 16–24 with lived experience of homelessness transitioning to independent living as they move into a new property.
A planning application to update and revitalise Maryport’s Wave Centre has been approved by Cumberland Council.
Work can now start on the prominent building, boosting facilities for locals and visitors of all ages. It’s part of a multi-million pound investment project which aims to revitalise the town’s high street, harbourside and promenade.
