The Governors of our well-supported, coastal school would like to appoint a visionary, child-centred and community-focused Head Teacher who will share our whole school vision. Ewanrigg Junior School is situated in the historic, maritime town of Maryport with magnificent views over the Solway Firth.

We seek to appoint a nurturing and inspirational Head Teacher who will continue to promote balanced learning programmes tailored to the unique needs of our pupils. We have strong links with the local community. We maximise the use of our school grounds and surroundings, extending learning beyond the classroom.

Ewanrigg Junior School is proud of its out of school activities and links with the local consortium of schools.

In 2019, we were rated Good by Ofsted. The report stated:

  • Pupils try their hardest. They have high aspirations.
  • The provision for pupils with SEND is well organised.
  • Leaders ensure that pupils receive appropriate challenge, regardless of ability.
