We are seeking to appoint a committed, highly motivated classroom teacher to join our inspirational team at Black Combe Junior School.  This opportunity is to cover PPA across the school and is fixed term due to a ‘bulge’ in pupil numbers.

Like everyone at Black Combe, you will need to be innovative, hardworking and driven by a passion to provide a high quality education and bring out the very best in all our pupils. We are flexible over whether the 0.2FTE is one full day or two part days and which day(s) this might be.

We would like to hear from applicants who have:

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2
  • Evidence of being an outstanding practitioner (at your career stage) and of making a significant contribution to school life
  • Energy, enthusiasm, a positive attitude to life and a love of learning
  • The ability to enthuse and inspire pupils and staff
  • High standards in terms of teaching, achievement and behaviour management
  • A commitment to further professional development
  • Excellent organisational skills, plus the ability to provide and maintain an engaging learning environment

In return, we can offer:

  • An enthusiastic, happy and supportive team working with friendly, polite and happy children, supportive parents and a committed governing body
  • An exciting opportunity to be part of a forward looking, ambitious school that believes in developing its staff to become the best they can be
  • A school that is consistently focussed on making a positive impact on pupils and ensuring our school vision is achieved in “making every day count”

Black Combe Junior School is committed to safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children and young people and creating a culture of vigilance and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and vigilance.  The appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including enhanced criminal records with barred list checking through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), in line with the Government’s Safer Recruiting guidelines. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates, shortlisted candidates will also need to disclose relevant criminal history.
